Hand hygiene defeats HCAIs

Healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) are a major concern when it comes to patient safety. However, most infections are preventable. From this perspective, every initiative to support increased hand hygiene should be acknowledged.
On May 5 2010 a major initiative will take place as the World Health Organisation is once again issuing its annual call to action. Healthcare workers, managers, facilities and organisations throughout the world are invited to acknowledge and campaign for improved hand hygiene at the point of care to reduce healthcare-associated infections.

Tork healthcare solutions
As high standards are set in healthcare facilities, Tork aims to provide solutions that meet and exceed these standards in order to further support hand hygiene improvements.

Tork cleaning products have also been developed to be durable and effective. For example, with a conventional bucket the disinfectant has to be changed every 24 hours, but with Tork’s hermetically-sealed lids, safe storage of the wipers is guaranteed for up to 30 days.*
