Key Tork products hold the EU Ecolabel
More than 80 Tork hand towel, toilet paper, napkin and wiping products now hold the coveted EU Ecolabel.
SCA Tissue Europe has been implementing a rolling programme of EU Ecolabel certification since 2009.
Certified products include hand towels, both folded and rolled; toilet paper for all formats of Tork systems, wiper products including centrefeed and a large choice of napkins.
“Customers are increasingly recognising the importance of sustainability but many find the issue both complex and time-consuming,” said Jenny Turner, UK and Ireland Away From Home marketing director.
“We believe the EU Ecolabel provides a high level of assurance with relevance to many of our distributors and end customers. Increasingly tenders require third-party certification for products to enable customers to meet their own sustainability goals, and the EU Ecolabel is well recognised as suitable evidence of compliance.”
The European Ecolabel scheme was established in 1992 to encourage businesses to provide environmentally-sound products and services.
Products gaining the EU Ecolabel need to meet tough criteria on CO2 emissions, waste and emissions to air and water. The label is supported across Europe and has been taken up by local governments to promote the scheme in each EU member country.
