NHS Supply Chain renews Tork contract
SCA Tissue Europe has retained its contract with the NHS Supply Chain for four years – and remains the number one hand towel supplier to the NHS.
Tork hand towel and toilet tissue products are in widespread use in National Health Service hospitals around the country, with the Tork Advanced Hand Towel Roll becoming increasingly popular.
“Five NHS trusts are now using the product and several others are trialling it,” said SCA Tissue Europe NHS account manager Paula Howard. “Each of these trusts has reported significant savings on consumption over their previous folded hand towel products.”
The high-capacity dispenser for the Tork Advanced Hand Towel Roll automatically cuts a length of towel to size inside the unit and presents each user with a clean portion of towel. The dispenser holds sufficient paper for up to 400 washroom visits.
Also selling well within the NHS is the Tork Premium Interfold Hand Towel. “This highly absorbent and user-friendly product is being used increasingly in areas where infection prevention is critical, such as intensive care wards and operating theatres,” said Paula.
In 2003 the NHS added Tork Advanced Zigzag Fold Towels to their list for use in general wash stations and patient washrooms. These have now become the most widely used hand towel in the NHS.
“We are delighted that the NHS Supply Chain has renewed its faith in Tork for a further four years,” said Paula. “The NHS is one of the largest consumers of tissue in Europe and it is a great accolade to have our products listed by them.”
