SCA in WWF’s paper benchmarking tool
SCA is one of the first companies to appear in WWF’s new benchmarking tool for rating paper in terms of its environmental impact.
The Check Your Paper World tool, launched by WWF at the PaperWorld trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany, is an online database allowing buyers to find environmentally-sound coated and uncoated paper products. SCA’s papers are all rated as either excellent or good in the listing.
“We believe this new database will help paper buyers to choose the most environmentally-friendly papers on the market,” said Rodney Taylor, WWF International’s forest director.
“WWF invites all paper buyers to check the tool before purchasing and encourages other paper-makers to join Check Your Paper.” Check Your Paper currently includes around 100 paper products including copy papers and printing and writing papers.
“Over the years SCA has been deeply involved in the development of publication papers with high environmental performance," says Björn Lyngfelt, SCA Forest Products vice-president communications.
"It is very positive that paper customers now have access to an easy-to-use tool to guide them in their choice of an environmentally-friendly paper.”
