Tork launches blue zigzag-fold towel for the food sector
A blue Tork zigzag-fold towel is now available for use in the food sector.
Tork Universal Blue Zigzag Hand Towel is aimed at food manufacturing and preparation areas but can be used in washrooms and wash stations anywhere.
“Food manufacturers prefer blue paper products for the simple reason that few of our foods are blue in colour,” said SCA product and segment manager Charlotte Branwhite.
“This means there is little chance of losing tissue among the food ingredients. Blue centrefeed wipers are used widely in the food industry already but it makes sense that other paper products in that sector – such as hand towels, for example – should be blue as well.”
The dispenser for the Tork Universal Blue Zigzag Hand Towel gives out one towel at a time to reduce over-consumption and improve cost in use. The fact that the towels are dispensed singly also reduces the risk of cross-contamination in the hygiene-critical food environment, since each towel is touched only by the user.
Designed for busier food preparation areas is the Tork Advanced Blue Hand Towel housed in a dispenser that cuts the towel to length and provides a large enough portion to dry both hands.
“The Tork Advanced Blue Hand Towel is highly effective at reducing consumption and is the optimum choice where a high capacity solution is needed,” said Charlotte.
“But Tork Universal Blue Zigzag Hand Towels are a really good, economical solution for medium-traffic areas in the food environment.”
