Tork sponsors Loo of the Year awards
Tork was among the official sponsors of the 24th annual Loo of the Year Awards, which was held earlier this month.
SCA’s product and segment manager Charlotte Branwhite and marketing communications co-ordinator Jamie Wright attended the event, which was held at Birmingham’s Chesford Grange.
“It was a great success and very well attended,” said Charlotte. “We choose to sponsor the Loo of the Year Awards because we strongly support the British Toilet Association’s commitment to improving away-from-home toilets in the UK and Ireland.”
Ceredigion County Council was the overall winner of this year’s awards, which was attended by facilities managers, local authority representatives and cleaning staff from all over the country. Other major awards were won by McDonald’s, Asda and Butlin’s.
The Loo of the Year Awards aims to highlight excellent washrooms in facilities such as shops, hotels, restaurants, schools and healthcare establishments.
Every facility inspected is star graded with more than 100 different inspection criteria used for each entry.
The event is run by the British Toilet Association which recently launched the “We need the loo” campaign. This promotes an online petition asking the Government to make adequate public toilet provision a legal requirement.
