Tork supports the EU Ecolabel
A large number of Tork products are to be EU Ecolabelled as SCA steps up its sustainability support to distributors and customers.
So far more than 20 products have been accredited with the label – previously known as the EU Flower - including the Tork Advanced Hand Towel Roll and the Tork interfold dispenser napkin range.
“Customers are increasingly recognising the importance of sustainability but many find the issue both complex and time-consuming,” said SCA Tissue Europe product and market manager Emma Goulding. “We are helping them to become more sustainable by providing EU Ecolabelled products while also increasing our sustainability support to distributors.”
Products gaining the EU Ecolabel need to meet tough criteria on CO2 emissions, waste and emissions to air and water. The label is supported across Europe and has been taken up by local governments to promote the scheme in each EU member country.
“The EU Ecolabel is the only truly pan-European accreditation there is, so choosing this route is a key point of difference between ourselves and our competition,” said Emma.
Several Tork products already hold the Nordic Swan and Blue Angel ecolabels. Where applicable SCA will seek the EU Ecolabel for these too, which means some Tork products will be supported by a combination of labels for added sustainability impact.
