Tork Compact Auto Shift saves college money

A college in the west of England has reported cost and time savings following a switch to the Tork Compact Auto Shift system.

West Dean College's housekeeping and laundry supervisor Julie Wheeler says the Tork toilet roll system is quicker to refill and creates less mess than the college’s previous toilet rolls. The system has been installed in 10 cubicles in the washrooms of the college, which is near Chichester.

“It’s just so easy,” said Julie. “We have been using the Tork Compact Auto Shift for several months and we are very happy with it.” The system comprises two tightly-wound 100 metre rolls inside a semi-transparent Tork Elevation dispenser which together provide the equivalent of around eight conventional rolls of toilet paper.

No waste litters the floor

When the first roll has been used up, the second roll shifts into position ready for use. The empty core is collected inside the dispenser ensuring that no waste litters the floor. The janitor then drops a new roll into the top of the dispenser during the next maintenance check.

“The Tork Compact Auto Shift is saving us time and money,” said Julie. “With our previous mini jumbo rolls, people would pull out too much paper and create a mess on the floor. We also had to leave spare rolls on the cistern to prevent the paper from running out, and these would sometimes fall off and become soiled.

“With the Tork Compact Auto Shift we don’t need to provide these unprotected spare rolls as there is always a spare roll in the dispenser. The system is also quicker to refill which saves us time.” West Dean College offers tuition in visual arts and conservation studies as well as crafts, gardening, music and creative writing.
