Tork in the US has a corporate relationship with American football team the Philadelphia Eagles based on a mutual commitment to the environment.
The Philadelphia Eagles made SCA its sole supplier of sanitary
paper products in 2007. Tork hand towels, tissues, napkins and soap dispensing systems are all used at the team's home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field.
SCA’s commitment to the environment played a major role in prompting the Eagles to switch to Tork.
“We are proud of the mutual commitment to the environment we share with the Philadelphia Eagles under their Go Green programme,” said Joe Russo, SCA Tissue vice-president of sales - distribution, US and Canada. “We are also pleased to be part of the Eagles Forest initiative for the second year in a row.”
SCA strengthened its links with the Philadelphia Eagles in May 2009 at a joint tree-planting event at Eagles Forest in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. This was attended by three Eagles alumni players: linebacker Gary Cobb, wide receiver Fred Barnett and wide receiver Mike Quick. The event was also attended by executives and employees from both organisations along with SCA customers.
Participants planted 15 trees to supplement the 1,500-plus trees and shrubs previously donated to the forest by the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans.
More than one million people visit Lincoln Financial Field each year to attend Eagles games as well as other sporting events and concerts. Tork is used at the venue and in the washrooms of the team’s NovaCare Complex corporate headquarters.
Tork is currently the largest Away From Home sanitary paper product
brand in North America to earn both Green Seal and EcoLogo certification.
Fifteen Tork towel, tissue and napkin articles are now certified by both Green Seal and EcoLogo, two of the world’s leading independent environmental certification organisations.
